Tamworth Heritage Magazine

Tamworth Heritage Magazine (THM) started in late 2022 with its first issue in January 2023. Produced quarterly covering all things do with heritage, history, local genealogy and social history of the Tamworth area. By Vol1 Issue 2 the magazine was completely independent and promoted all organisations that worked with the magazine.

 

By Volume 2 the Magazine was additionally producing THM Special Issues on single topics. Mostly extended articles from the magazine. ranging from 10 to 30 pages. By Volume 3 the Magazine started producing books, both as PDF's and printed.

 

The Magazine runs with an Editor in place for 5 years, succeeded by the Deputy Editor and an Editorial Board of experienced Historians and Journalists.

 

Tamworth Heritage Magazine is deposited with the William Salt Library and the following libraries who hold catalogue entries for Tamworth Heritage Magazine ISSN:2753-4162

Could this be You? Tamworth Heritage Magazine is looking for a Deputy Editor to take over as Editor for Volume 6. To Edit the Magazine for volumes 6 to11 when a new Deputy Editor will take over. This plan is to ensure continuity but at the same time keep the magazine fresh.

Sara is a literary and cultural historian and historical novelist. She is a senior lecturer in English at Loughborough University. Sara has lived in Tamworth for thirty years. More information on Sara's work and publications can be found on her website sararead.co.uk 

 

THM EditorDr Simon Peaple BA, PhD (History)

 

Simon who has held a history teaching post at Princethorpe Collage and the post of Research Fellow at Birmingham University. He has published several history books and is a former Mayor of Tamworth. Simon's recent book has been a greart source for a lot of the research into the lives of Tamworth men in WW1

Rebecca  is a family historian passionate about social history, especially in Tamworth. She focuses on the lives of ordinary people from the 1800s onwards, capturing their voices and experiences.

Jil, has nearly two decades experience in the legal profession and her research is thorough and precise. Jill's work is often the underpinning to many articles in the magazine. Jill runs the Tamworth Genealogy Group

Fred is Vice Chairman of the Birmingham Press Club, the worlds oldest Press Club and formerly the Business Editor for the Birmingham Post and Mail.  Fred has written books and Articles on Drayton Manor Park and other events and issues around Tamworth
